Japanese Binoculars
Commercial Japanese binoculars were marked "Made In
Occupied Japan" (MIOJ) from approximately 1947 to 1952. From
November 1959 to around the 1980's they were usually marked with "JL"
codes (J and L merged to look like "J-"), J-B indicating the manufacturer of the finished product (and often the optics) and J-E indicating the
metalwork or body
