Bushnell Custom 7x50 and 10x50

The Bushnell Custom 7x50 and 10x50 are very similar in outward appearance.  They have the heavy duty Custom style body with twist-up eyecups.  They are very well baffled with few extraneous light leakages.  The images are very well corrected and the eye relief is fairly good.  The only bad thing I can say about these binoculars is that I find them too bulky and heavy.  I find the focus wheel hard to reach and my arms tire quickly from holding them.  Otherwise, they are excellent  binoculars.

Date: circa 1970's

AFOV: ~52.5 degrees

TFOV: 7 degrees 30'

Eye Relief: ~18mm

Prisms: high index

Weight: ~1200g

The 7x50 has only a moderate field of view but it has very a good image to the edge with just enough eye relief to use with glasses.  I disassembled an eyepiece and found it to be a three element Kellner type as can be seen in the photo above.

Custom 10x50

AFOV: ~70 degrees

TFOV: 7 degrees

Eye Relief: ~14mm

Prisms: high index

Weight: ~1350g

The 10x50 has a very nice wide field of view.  The edge of the field is not sharp but that is to be expected from such a wide angle design.  The eye relief is better than average for a wide angle binocular but not enough to use with glasses.
