| Bushnell Unmarked 7x40 (?)Mfr: Unknown, no J- marks Date: circa 1980's-90's AFOV: ~50 degrees TFOV: ~7 degrees Eye Relief: ~22mm Prisms: high index This binocular is somewhat of a mystery. It has no markings except for a late style Bushnell logo on the front of the hinge. It has an unusual reddish-brown covering (like ostrich skin), rubber eyecups, and rubber objective bumpers. The optics are very high quality, although the field of view is not wide. I had to estimate the power and field of view. The image is well corrected, sharp to the edge, with round exit pupils, and just a small amount of light leakage. Multicoatings appear to be used at least on the external optical surfaces. This binocular is very comfortable to use even with glasses, owing to its extremely generous eye relief. It is also lightweight and easy to hold. If you have any clues as to what model this binocular is, please let me know. |
