Bushnell Expo 8x30Mfr: Unknown, made in "British Hong Kong" Date: circa 1970's AFOV: ~60 degrees TFOV: ~7.5 degrees, 394 feet at 1000 yards Eye Relief: ~11mm Prisms: high index? This unusual binocular was manufactured in Hong Kong, but I am grouping it with the other Bushnell models in the Japanese section. This inexpensive model was made for the outdoor recreational market, with a lightweight fiberglass body that floats. It came with a two piece eyepiece and objective cover bearing the cute name of "Binocular Bikini". The eyepieces have rubber eyecups and individual "Thumb Focus" levers. The optical image is fair, with nearly round exit pupils. This binocular shows its cheapness, but it seems to be perfectly adequate for its intended purpose. |
