American Binoculars

Very few, if any, binoculars are made in America anymore*.  American binocular manufacturing hit its zenith during World War II.  Bausch & Lomb was probably the leading American maker.  There were many other makers during WWII to meet the enormous demand.  B&L was one of the few to continue making binoculars after the war, but even they eventually transferred their manufacturing to Japan.

*It has been reported that binoculars made from foreign parts have been assembled in California in recent times by Kama-Tech (linked to Kamakura Koki of Japan) for the U.S. military.  These binoculars may have Fujinon and other brand markings on them.   I would not consider these true "American" binoculars though.
